On January 27th, the Splunk Synthetics Operations team will begin migrating the Milan, Italy location to a new cloud provider with whom we already host many locations. Through our testing process, we've found that performance with the new provider is far more consistent and that on average we anticipate customers to experience a slight improvement for all performance scores.
Because of the expected change in performance scores, we will be pausing checks in our Milan location while we're shifting work to our new servers to avoid any noise in the results during the migration.
Due to the nature of this migration, IP addresses will change for these locations. The new IPs are: 15.161.3.236 15.161.114.169
Leading up to the migration we will post a maintenance window for Milan to notify our customers of the status of the migration and provide any important information, if required. Additionally, we will be marking all effected checks with a system event in app to ensure that any change in performance related to this migration can easily be identified.
